Here it goes.
Welcome all and welome many to this little journal of mine. If youre intrested in museums, gigs or just things to do around Helsinki, you've come to the right place. I write honest reviews on places I've visited recently and as a alledgedly neurospicy (or my brain just is wired ALL the time), I want to also focus on differrent forms of accessibility for each place I visit, if I feel its relevant.
Who am I?
I'm a 28-year old born and raised Helsinki-an doing trying to sur-vibe (youre free to use that one, not that I invented it myself) in the modern world, all the while juggling work, trying to get my degree and living in a politically unstable enviroment that includes two furry terrorists living inside my otherwise peaceful living quarters.
Why this blog?
Well, I have to attend compulsory course in Academic English in order to complete my degree. In addition I'm looking to get back into blogging (Yes i had a cringy blog or two back in the higth of the blogging-grace that happened to be when I was in the higth of my teenage angst). Ok ok, I genuinely like seeing new things and visiting new places and even after living in Helsinki for 20 plus years, there is a lot I havent still seen. Outside of University, I work as a bartender in a little neighbourgood pub and I get a lot of tourists asking me recommendations of things to do in Helsinki. Thats kind of what kindled the idea for this blog and as I got my Museokortti (a yearly pass for most museums in Finland, I recommend you get it if you reside permanently or semi-permanently in in our fine land), I went from Idea to Execution.
(Now for the ALMS course stuff)
I started the ALMS course for the first time in fall 2025. As I was struggling for time I moved it forward to spring 2026. I count this as my first week, even though I started a little late. I intend to catch up in the upcoming weeks with my blogging and I think the weekly museum visits aid my journaling through this course. This week I signed up for my first support group, Creative writing, which I very much look forward to. I started working on my record sheet and had a general gloss-over of the course moodle page. So thats that! Who knows what next week will hold ;). I'm going to post a little review of the Restaurant Museum in Kaapelitehdas, Helsinki a little later down the week. Stay tuned my guys, the review is going to be, not extensive, but entertaining to say the least.

As you would say in finnish,
Moiccumoii!
Kind regards, K.
